Eden Epstein as Joy
Eden Epstein was born and raised in Santa Monica, California where she trained and performed under George Balanchine’s muse, Yvonne Mounsey, at the Westside School of Ballet. After sustaining a serious injury, she began to act. Epstein attended New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and upon graduating, immediately booked her first feature film, Blind, directed by Michael Mailer and starring opposite Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore. Epstein is currently a series regular on the STARZ show, Sweetbitter. She recently wrapped filming Omri Bezalel’s feature film, Listen, in which she is the lead. She is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.
John Buffalo Mailer as Max
John Buffalo Mailer is an award winning screenwriter, journalist, playwright, actor, and producer. As an actor, he cut his teeth at The Actors Studio at the age of twelve and went on to perform in a dozen plays in New York City throughout the 2000‘s. As a screen actor, Buffalo has appeared opposite Shia LaBeouf in Oliver Stone’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Paul Giamatti and Ellen Burstyn in Matthew Barney’s River Of Fundament, Tony Sirico in Friends And Romans, Alec Baldwin, Demi Moore, and Dylan McDermott in Blind (which he also wrote), Sienna Miller in Private Life Of A Modern Woman, and can be seen in the upcoming features set for release in 2019, The Second Sun, American Terrorist, and DieRy (the second two of which he also wrote and produced).
Ciaran Byrne as Joe
Marking his film debut with The Second Sun, former builder Ciaran began his professional acting career after attending an Equity Principal Audition for Irish Repertory Theatre’s 2012 production “The Freedom Of The City,” getting cast alongside myriad Broadway veterans, including Joseph Sikora of Starz TV’s “Power.”
Gaining membership to Actors Equity Association Ciaran built a reputation as a sought after journeyman actor, garnering regional and Off Broadway critical acclaim. Notably: Studio Theater’s multiple Helen Hayes Award nominee “Moment.”
From a self-taped audition Ciaran gained approval from Steven Spielberg and Edward Burns for TNT’s “Public Morals,” marking his television debut alongside Timothy Hutton and Brian Dennehy.
Ciaran is currently performing Off Broadway at Theatre Row in Obie and Drama Desk Award winning Mint Theater Company’s “The Mountains Look Different.”

Claudia Maree Mailer as Max’s Mom
24-year-old actress and model, Claudia Maree Mailer was born in England, and grew up in New Zealand. When she was 17, she was accepted to Team New Zealand for the World Championships of Performing Arts, where she competed in Los Angeles in 2012.
Claudia moved to New York in 2013 to attend the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, where she graduated in 2015.
Her film credits include Starling, The Second Sun, Fluidity, and DieRy, in which she plays the lead role of Marie Clark. Her television credits include the upcoming G Mac. Brown pilot, Paramour No More, which is premiering at Series Fest 2019.
